नोएडा। गवर्नमेंट इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ मेडिकल साइंसेज, ग्रेटर नोएडा कोविड-19 के मरीजों की देखभाल के मामले में सबसे आगे है तथा नोएडा में पहला मामला दर्ज होने के बाद से ही संस्थान कोविड-19 संक्रमित मरीजों की देखभाल कर रहा है। अभी तक गौतमबुद्ध नगर जिले में सिर्फ कोविड-19 मरीजों के सेम्पल ही लिए जाते थे व उन्हें जाॅच व परीक्षण के लिए जिले से बाहर अन्य लैबों में भेजा जाता था तथा रिपोर्ट देर से आने के कारण मरीजों को खासकर महिलाओं व छोटे-छोटे बच्चों को कई दिन तक क्वारेंटाइन में रहना पडता था जिससे उन्हें काफी परेशानी होती थी।
जिम्स ने क्षेत्र की जनता को इस समस्या के निजात दिलाने हेतु संस्थान में ही कोविड-19 की जाॅच हेतु परीक्षण प्रयोगशाला स्थापित करने का निश्चिय किया। संस्थान ने दिनांक 12 अप्रैल को अनुमति उपरान्त दिनांक 13 अप्रैल से संस्थान में प्रदेश सरकार व जिला प्रशासन के सहयोग से स्थापित कोविड-19 जाॅच एंव परीक्षण प्रयोगशाला ने कोविड-19 की जाॅच शुरू की जिसका लोकार्पण आलोक टण्डन, आयुक्त, अवसंरचना एवं औद्योगिक विकास, अध्यक्ष नोएडा व ग्रेटर नोएडा औद्योगिक विकास प्राधिकरण एवं अध्यक्ष, यमुना एक्सप्रैस वे औद्योगिक विकास प्राधिकरण तथा अध्यक्ष, प्रादेशीय औद्योगिक एवं निवेश निगम द्वारा लखनऊ से ही ऑनलाईन किया गया। संस्थान के निदेशक डा0 (बिग्रेडियर) राकेश गुप्ता ने बताया कि अब कोविड-19 के मरीजों की जाॅच जिम्स है, केवल 24 घण्टे में ही हो जायेगी जिससे मरीजों को ज्यादा दिन क्वारेंटाइन केन्द्र पर नहीं रहना होगा। मुख्य चिकित्सा अधीक्षक डा0 शिखा सेठ ने कहा कि संस्थान और भी कई प्रकारों की जाॅच करने की दिशा में अग्रसर है। कोविड-19 की जाॅच एवं परीक्षण का दायित्व संस्थान के होनहार व अनुभवी संकाय सदस्य डा0 हरमेश मनोचा, सह-आचार्य, माइक्रोबाॅयलाॅजी व डा0 विवेक गुप्ता, सह-आचार्य, पैथोलाॅजी (माॅलीक्युलर) को सौंपा गया है। Now Corona Sample testing facility available at GIMS
Today on 13-04-2020, Monday, Government Institute of Medical Sciences has achieved a new milestone towards COVID-19 care. Molecular testing lab for corona positive patients is now fully functional at GIMS. Shri Alok Tandon, Commissioner IIDC, Chairman YEIDA, NOIDA, GNIDA and PIICUP have online inaugurated this laboratory. He said that this facility certainly a boon for COVID 19 patients. Previously a sample was taken at GIMS but due to unavailability of testing facilities neither in district nor in nearby areas. So, the sample was taken care by lab at AMU. It used to take more than 48hours to get the patient report. Due to the delay in the reports, the patients kept in quarantine as well as their family members had to face lot of problems. After this lab testing facility available at GIMS now report will be available within 24hrs that certainly improves the quality of patient care and reduces the psychological stress towards the suspects waiting for their reports. Dr. (Brig) Rakesh Gupta Director GIMS along with Dr. Vivek Kumar Gupta, Dr. Harmesh Minocha, Dr Nidhi Pal and his team have played a pivotal role in this landmark achievement in such a short span of 10 days. After getting approval from ICMR, NIV Pune on 12-04-2020 from today onwards, 13-04-2020 the lab facilities are open for the sample testing in the NCR region.
